The best athletes of our country will compete for a place in the official Muaythai team of the United States, which will compete in the international World Games in the famous “elite class”. From July 7-17, 2022, the Games will be held in Birmingham, Alabama.

The International World Games are an international multi-sport competition organized by the International World Games Association and sanctioned by the International Olympic Committee (IOC). This event only takes place once every four years and is a limited opportunity for any athlete to be able to participate. There will be 206 events in the World Games, with 30 recognized sports and 54 categories. About 40 athletes from countries are expected to compete. These athletes rank among the greatest in the world and only the best athletes in each sport are invited to compete.

Qualification for the USMF International World Games will include up to 16 men’s and 16 women’s teams, with many of the nation’s top Muaythai athletes (professional and amateur) competing for a spot on the US Muaythai team. International qualification for the World Games will be by invitation only, with athletes having to meet strict criteria to compete.

Several top athletes have confirmed their participation, such as IFMA gold medalists Eric Luna and Aaron Ortiz, GLORY Kickboxing stars Asa Ten Pow and Nick Chasteen, Pan American gold medalist Angela Whitley, North American champion Lion Fight’s Selina Flores, Triumphant Combat’s Eddie Abasolo and Jacob Rodriguez, Lion Fight Pro Fighter Natalie Morgan, and many more. There will be nearly 100 athletes competing in an exciting multi-day event.

This weekend is not just a fighting tournament, but an all-encompassing experience that promotes education in the sport of Muaythai. There will be several ongoing workshops during the Playoffs to grow the sport in the United States.

USA Muaythai is delighted to provide the Officials Experience, a rare opportunity to work alongside Gunter Plank, the undisputed source for all of the world’s Muaythai rules. Additionally, USMF Chief Officials Stephen Strotmeyer and Joshua Ferraro will offer their experience and knowledge, which has helped countless officials across the United States master all of the rules of judging and IFMA reference.

Training includes daily lessons under the supervision of experienced USMF judges and referees and the opportunity to shadow judge during World Games qualifiers.

Finally, the USA Muaythai media team presents its Media Workshop with USMF Chief Brand Officer Jeff Dojillo; Pari Aryafar, social media manager and team photographer; Dustin Bolinger, lead designer; and Rosie Aybar, Senior Videographer and Head of Motion Graphics.

They will teach attendees what it takes to work with USMF media and operate in the rapidly changing field of combat sports photography. You’ll learn about photography, videography, using social media, and creating compelling graphics.

This is an event that any combat sports fan should not miss.
