Kim Kardashian’s Daughter Asks Photographers to ‘Stop’ Taking Her Photos

A video of Kim Kardashian’s eldest daughter, North West, holding up a handwritten sign telling photographers to “stop” photographing her at Paris Fashion Week has sparked fierce debate over paparazzi filming famous children.

In the viral video, nine-year-old West is filmed sitting alongside her mother in the front row of the Jean Paul Gaultier Couture show on July 5. West then waves her invitation to the parade with the word “STOP” written in large letters on the page to the photographers taking her picture.

The clip was one of many encounters where West confronts the paparazzi following her during Paris Fashion Week. In another viral video, she complains as she faces swarms of photographers as she leaves a building and asks them, “Why do you have to wait for us all the time?” The paparazzi keep snapping photos of West before one responds, “Because you’re so famous.” We love you North!

In another encounter, West expressed her displeasure with the paparazzi in Paris last week as she got out of her vehicle. She claims the crowd of photographers had been “following her” “the whole time” and tells them they “have to stop”.

The clips, which have amassed millions of views, have sparked intense debate on social media about paparazzi photographing the Kardashian children.

While many Twitter users criticized celebrity photographers, many were quick to point out that it’s Kardashian who drags her daughter into the limelight and has her own network of paparazzi photographers that she uses for publicity.

“If your daughter doesn’t want her picture taken, don’t take her to sit in the front row at a fashion show. Moreover, this is how your whole family earns money, from videos and images. You might want to tell him that now, writes a Redditor.

“Kim does it on purpose for her own kids. She calls the paparazzi and walks them around like props. That’s what North will find out in a few years but it’ll be too late,” another user added in a comment.

In a separate tweet, Kardashian addressed her critics and tried to reassure fans that her daughter wanted to be at public events with her.

In most parts of the United States, it is legal to photograph anyone, including children, in public spaces. The only major exception is California, where a law making it a crime to photograph the children of celebrities was passed in 2013.

Celebrities have a tense history with the paparazzi for filming their children. A newly released video shows Prince William scolding a photographer for ‘harassing’ his children on a bike ride last year.
