ICC Photography Club Holds Awards Ceremony

The Indian Cultural Center (ICC) Photography Club held the 2020 ICC Photographer of the Year Award Ceremony at ICC Ashoka Hall to congratulate the winners.

Dr. Deepak Mittal, India’s Ambassador to Qatar graced the occasion as the chief guest. Members of the ICC Photography Club as well as dignitaries from various associations and Indian community leaders attended the ceremony.
The welcome speech was delivered by Club President Haseeb C M. Club Vice President Vishnu Gopal presented the club’s proposed activities for the current year. The distribution of membership cards was also launched during the event.
With 2022 being the year of the FIFA World Cup, Dr Mittal in his address suggested the club promote sports photography. He also proposed that 2023 be the golden jubilee year of diplomatic relations between India and Qatar, exhibitions featuring photographers from Qatar and India will be organized.
PN Babu Rajan, President of ICC also addressed the event and gave his support. Ranoosh Ali has been named ICC Photographer of the Year 2020. The winners in different categories are: Exploring Qatar – Shabeerali Madalan; Expressions of Qatar – Shaji M Chandran; Events in Qatar – Raymond Cheenath; and Back to Nature – Nifiba Suneer. Indo-Qatar, a series of photographs by Shaji Hussain K and the Iconic Structures series by Ranoosh Ali received a plaque and a certificate from the ambassador.
The rally ended with a vote of thanks from General Secretary Thajuddin Chirakuzhi.
