Amber Heard denies leaking photos to paparazzi

Amber Heard has made a tearful return to the stand as the defamation lawsuit brought against her by ex-husband Johnny Depp comes to an end.

Amber Heard was accused of warning the paparazzi before filing a temporary restraining order against her then-husband in 2016.

Heard testified in court in Virginia saying: “I didn’t call TMZ or any other news source or paparazzi source, nobody,”

Heard and Depp’s attorney, Camille Vasquez, spoke about the 2016 filing.

Earlier in the week, former TMZ employee Morgan Tremaine gave brief testimony and discussed sending paparazzi to follow Heart to court as well as posting a video Heard recorded of Depp smashing cupboards and yelling at his then wife.

While claiming his innocence, Heard tearfully told the court, “What real domestic violence survivor wants that?”

“If I had wanted to scare him away, I would have done a lot more.”

“You testified earlier that you didn’t know how to disclose things.” Basin said.

Heard broke down in tears and said “People want to kill me.”

Heard even mentioned the threats she received against her one-year-old daughter Oonagh Paige Heard: “People want to put my baby in the microwave and they tell me”

“Johnny…promised to me that if I ever left him, he would remind me of him every day of my life.”

“In the harassment and humiliation, the campaign against me that resonates every day on social networks. And now in front of the cameras in this room. Every day I have to relive the trauma,

“It may be easy to forget, but I am a human being” She continued, pleading with the jury.

“Protecting the secret that I did, as long as I did, took enough of my voice, I have a right to my voice and my name… I have a right as an American to tell my story.”

Heard and Depp’s lawyer continued to argue for some time as Vasquez again accused Heard of lying.

“You said that this trial was difficult for you. So let’s talk about it. » Vasquez said.

“Your lies have been exposed to the world”,

“I didn’t lie about anything I said here” Heard answered.

Vasquez asked if Amber expected to see the long list of witnesses who came to testify on Depp’s behalf.

Heard responded by saying: “I know how many people will come out of the woodwork to support Johnny”,

Proceedings ended soon after, with the jurors dismissed for the day.

The jury is due back in the courtroom at 9 a.m. GMT-4 on Friday, just past 1 p.m.

The court will hear closing arguments and then have time to deliberate.
